Britania Islands, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur

Who would have thought that the province of Surigao has its own white Islands same as that of the famous Boracay Island? I am sure you'll be surprised of it and be amazed of these Islets called Britania Islands.

Britania Group of Islands is located in Barangay Britania, San Agustin Municipality, Surigao del Sur. It has 24-25 powdery white sands Islands so pure and refined and Islets facing the Pacific.

The Islands can be compared to the well-famed Boracay Island because of its powdered-like sands. As a matter of fact, it was featured on an International Geographic Channel as one of the best spots in Asia.

From 24-25 Islands and Islets, we went to the Boslon Island since it is the largest one. It actually has a cross and a Mama Mary statue standing on the side of the Island.

I was given a chance to visit this gorgeous location because of my girlfriend-Ainee Cubelo and it was part of her 1st Anniversary gift to me-touring me to her place-Surigao del Sur!

P.S.:
Thanks to all the people in Puyat, Carmen, Surigao del Sur for the warm welcome and taking care of me when I had my vacation. Hoping to meet you again.

Check the photos below to see it for yourself. Enjoy! :

(This is what I'm talking about. See the majestic scenery of this gorgeous Island? Trust me, you will surely love this beach)

  15. I will share our getaway experience in Surigao province...We went to tinuy-an falls and enchanted river. The spots are now included on my list of the most beautiful places ive ever visited. After experiencing the magnificent falls and the enchanting river, our group decided to go to Britannia Islets. It's morning when we arrived there, we thought that there is only one resort that will take care our needs, but we are wrong. If im not mistaken there is five of them. There is one guy that guided us to the said resort, we thought that this guy is some kind of leech that will s*ck up our money for services, that guy is from the LGU group (native in the area). We decided to look for other options and we arrived at the MC ARTHUR RESORT. We look at the prices of their foods and found out that the price is similar to Davao city, so we get out in the resort and went back to the LGU group. We found out that it's 60 percent cheaper than the MC ARTHUR RESORT. After buying the sea foods from LGU, we stay in their small nipa hut. We are surprise when a lady came to the hut and asked us why we left the MC ARTHUR RESORT. She asked us if we encountered problem with her staff. We said we didn't. But to our surprise, she got mad and said we are rude because we entered their resort and we left without reason. Our group answered that we have the freedom to leave their resort as long as we dont have outstanding balances and we didnt break any rules, but she insisted that we should not do that. After saying that, she immediately left.

My point in writing this is to inform people about the said resort and to avoid future problems. If you don't believe me, try to do the same. The locals in that area said to us that it's not the first time that they had seen that problem.

Thanks to the breath takiing scenery of the Britannia Islets that make our stress go away because of that stupid lady.

    1. We plan to visit Surigao del Sur on April 19. We included Britannia in our list.

As I read your post, in my opinion, the LGU guy committed a mistake. He must introduced himself first to you so that you won't doubted him.

Taking extra precaution is good but I hope you did it in a nice way. I hope you explained to the LGU guy why you declined him.

Anyways, good to know that inspite of-the-not-so-good-confrontation-with-the-lady you still enjoyed Britannia.

I hope this won't happen to others. It is not nice experience.

  19. I've been there many times, pero di pa rin ako magsasawang bumalik. In all of my trips in Britannia Islands, I've always stayed at McArthur's Place. Their staff are very friendly and accomodating.
