I am really amazed with Cebu City. Not just because of its beaches or even its establishments but because of this one Big Studio for filming. I discovered this studio during the 1st Visayas-Mindanao Business Trip (Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan in partnership with the University of San Carlos last October 13-15. 2008). That was a year and months ago.
I'm pretty sure Cebuanos (people from Cebu City) know about this since it is a well-known establishment in the place. I believe it is famous around the world now. So, what I'm talking about?
It is the BigFoot Studios
Bigfoot Studios is a wholly-owned subsidiary that encompasses six sound stages and on-site state-of-the-art post-production facilities owned by an international entertainment company which produces independent films for the global marketplace. It provides creative solutions for all your cinematic need (www.bigfootstudios.com).
The studio provides everything you need to create a high-quality project for filming. From its underwater shooting tank(in which it is fully equipped with editing suites and the latest film cameras). The Studios draw professionals from around the world to produce feature films, TV shows, documentaries and commercials. Don't forget its 75-seat Dolby Mix Theatre.
Have you watched the film Victim of Circumstance (This film was previously known as:
"Tears from afar") directed by Michael Gleissner-in which about a woman (named Phuong Li) who travels to the land of promise only to be met by a life of hard labor and cruel and punishing abuse by her husband and his accomplice--his other wife. Or in a more basic scenario: fails prey to a human trafficking scheme in Vietnam? Well, well, most of the scenes were produced in this Studio.
Amazed? Now, you better check it for real!
Don't worry, The studio is just 10-15 minutes away from the Mactan International Airport.
I wanna visit the Studio again since I only got a shot when I was there. Too sad....But, it is still fine since I've been there. Now, this is your chance to visit the Studio. Don't miss it!
