The Panoramic View of Cagayan de Oro's High-Ridge

Who would have thought that Cagayan de Oro have its own panoramic scenery of high ridge? Well I'm not talking about the Sky High Ridge in the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina where you experience the feel of local folk and nature at its best.
I am talking about the High Ridge in Cagayan de Oro (CDO). You heard it right! CDO has its own high ridge located on a hilltop in Aluba.
The area used to be a commercial establishment but was closed down by the city for "zoning violation." Since then High Ridge has been open to the public for outdoor picnics. Well yeah, High Ridge has its own policies too (better follow them!). It requires a dress code and discourages people to bring beverages or any glass bottled drinks plus visitors are requested to properly dispose off personal trash. Don't forget the pet, it is a No! No!. About the transportation, you can use your own wheels if you have one (that is much better) since there are no available public transportation in the area. Or if you want, you can hire a vehicle or taxi and agree on a time to pick you up.
I'm not sure if it is still open for public today (the original high ridge) since when we went there last first week of April 2010, the area was covered with walls. Folks says that the high ridge was transferred, thus making the other high ridge spot publicized near the original location.
Trust me, it is the best night viewing spot in CDO. "Its like a sea of fireflies once you're up there", as what visitor stated.

    1. Hi!

I regret to inform you that this site is no longer available and is closed. Still, there is a place beside and/or a walking distance from this ridge to another one which is open for public.

    1. Hi!

Thank you for visiting my travel site and Happy New Year!

About your inquiry, as far as I know, the original high-ridge is still close as of this moment though there are rumors that it'll be opening again. About the security and/or the safety of the area, I regret to inform you that the area is not that fully secured since it's been closed for about years now. I'm still updating the information though and will really try to make an updates about this spot. :)
