It was a challenging, and yet fulfilling experience as we participated the largest photography gathering last October 06, 2018, a simultaneous photography event known as the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk now on its 11th year.
This has been my 4th time in a row as a Photowalk Leader for CDO-MisOr Leg, and i am much grateful since the CDO-MISOR Leg was celebrated with 2 groups, the other one was spareheaded by Mr Angelo Rodriguez Jr, our Camera Club of Cagayan de Oro's Vice President.
Competing with over 15,000+ photographers for this year's event from different countries is indeed a challenging one, good thing i decided on adding our very own local competition once again for our groups to spice up the annual Photowalk tradition and somehow make it more fun and exciting.
Last October 19, 2018, we successfully announced the Top 15 selected winners for this year's CDO-MISOR Leg which also celebrated the Camera Club of Cagayan de Oro's 1st Anniversary at the 1st Level, Bridgeway, Centrio Mall-Ayala, Cagayan de Oro City.
Same as the last 3 years as being the Photowalk Leader, this year was even more tougher, and harder on choosing the Top 15 winners for the local contest, good thing, i was assisted by other personalities including from the photography industry as judges. There were actually 60+ official Photowalk participants combining the two groups under the CDO-MISOR leg, and a total of 43 fantastic entries submitted, our task was to choose the most deserving, and exception image amongst others.
This year's local competition is based on this theme "Connect, Explore, and Enjoy" which official entries were judged by the following criteria:
- Relevance to the theme
- Composition
- Story-line
- Originality
Aside of the Top 15 selected winners, we also added the local People's Choice Award, Winning Image for International Contest for the 2 groups, and Online contest. These special citation winners received the following:
- Certificates of Award, Baybayin Shirt by I AM A TRAVELER, 1 set of Nature's Spring bottled water, and a Montrail Caldorado Trail Running Shoes worth P7,690.00.
