Practical Shooting: A New Outdoor Experience in Cagayan de Oro CIty

Tagged as the Whitewater Rafting Capital of the Philippines, Cagayan de Oro and its neighboring places are becoming the Adventure Capital of Mindanao of most tourists because of such extreme sports and adventures the city can offer to its visitors.

From the well-famed whitewater rafting adventure to the longest dual-course zipline in Asia, comes a new and sprouting outdoor adventure that will make you hooked.

On-hand: MP5 Sub-Machine Gun
The Northern Mindanao Practical Shooting!

Yes! You read it right! Cagayan de Oro City offers a new experience called the Practical Shooting and I myself even experienced it for real. If you love handling guns or just simply love to experience firearm shooting, this will surely for you!

The Northern Mindanao Practical Shooting Associations, Inc. (NMPSA) is an accredited Gun Club with three (3) accredited firing ranges in Region 10: Camaman-an, Laguitas (Malaybalay, Bukidnon) and their newest range located in Zone 9, Anhawon Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City. This new range will surely be the next tourist attraction in the sports of firearm shooting.

With all the firearms we used during the shooting.
I am lucky enough to handle real guns while enjoying the sport which the owner himself JV T. Cabrera let me experienced the firearm shooting on-hand. Thanks to Mr. Rheinhart Marc Conrad Robles (Marketing Officer of NMPSA) for the meet up he did with the owners.

First thing of the shooting experience we did was of-course, lecture from the Range Instructor about the Rules of Firearms Safety, Fundamentals of Shooting, Dry Firing, Live Shooting, and Unloading the bullets of Firearms. There we meet one of the Range Instructor Mr. Ramil and he instructed us with the importance of firearm shooting. With the help of Rheinhart, we had been acquainted with the firearms we used. Gees! I am actually excited to try this sport and experience it on-hand.
On-hand Ruger 22 Rifle.
Meanwhile, the guns we used were 1911 classic 45, Ruger 22 pistol, Ruger 22 rifle, Pump action shot-gun, MP5 Sub Machine Gun, and one of my favorites, the world war II Thompson Sub Machine Gun. And yes, these firearms have real rounds of ammunition.

One of my favorite firearms: The World War II Thompson
Sub Machine Gun.
By the way, my favorites of the firearms we used are the MP5 Sub Machine Gun and of course, the world war II Thompson Sub Machine Gun. I feel like I'm on a counter strike and call of duty games while holding and firing the guns. Lmao. See that picture on the left side? Yeah! That's one of a big thing!

For a record, a real Thompson's weight is heavy than a long-hand shot gun. Gees! Luckily, I do some weight lifting and strengthening twice and/or thrice a week.

I really enjoyed my experience and planning to come back and experience it again and again, and again. Thanks NMPSA for the accommodation and learning. This will surely be a  great adventure and sport.
