2ND MISOR FOTOFEST Kuyamis Festival 2019: A Social Photography Celebration
The Misamis Oriental Tourism, Culture, and Arts Council in partnership with the Camera Club of Cagayan de Oro, and in full cooperation with the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental headed by the Provincial Governor Yevgeny "Bambi" Emano presents the 2nd MISOR FOTOFEST Kuyamis Festival 2019 happening on January 07-11, 2019.
The MISOR FOTOFEST is the 2nd year of the social photography event organized by the said photography club in celebration of the 6th Kuyamis Festival. It is a 5-day event that includes photo exhibits, lectures, photowalk, and photography competition, and is considered as the official photography event of the provincial celebration.
Last year, MISOR FOTOFEST had gathered a number of participants joining the event and invited different Brand influencers, Resource Speakers including a 3x Master Photographer and Brand Ambassador through photography lectures, and folded the event through the announcement of the Top 10 Winners of the photography contest.
MISOR FOTOFEST serves as an avenue for amateur, hobbyist, and professional photographers to foster the appreciation and understanding of photography, hone their skills and encourage the growth of technical knowledge, and promote camaraderie amongst participants. It will start on January 07, 2019 (Monday) with the opening of the Photo Exhibits by the Camera Club of Cagayan de Oro showcasing the Province of Misamis Oriental as one of the destinations for photography from landscape to seascape, and mountain ranges to beaches. The photo exhibit will run until January 11, 2019 (Friday) at the Activity Center, Centrio Mall-Ayala, Cagayan de Oro City together with other members of the Culture and Arts Council from 10:00am until 08:00pm.
On January 09, 2019 (Wednesday), photography lectures will take place at the Activity Center, Centrio Mall-Ayala, registration starts at 04:00pm for walk-in guests, and officially starts at 04:45pm. The second topic will start at 06:30pm, and final briefing of the photography competition will commence after the photography lecture around 07:45pm.
On January 11, 2019 (Friday), a photowalk will start at 06:00 in the morning from the Provincial Capitol Grounds and will simultaneously celebrated with the 6th Kuyamis Festival 2019 Street Dancing Contest and Festival Tableau at 07:00am going to the Pelaez Sports Center. Submission of printed entries on the other hand for the Photo Competition will be at the Activity Center, Centrio Mall-Ayala until 01:00pm while winners will be contacted through SMS and/or email to join the awarding ceremony at the Limketkai Luxe Hotel.
Registration Fee at: P200.00 per head per category with two entries.
Registration Venue: E-Shop Camera, Accessories, and Equipment, RCCA Business Center, Phoenix Station, Uptown, Cagayan de Oro (along Mastersons Avenue near SM City Uptown)
Registration period: January 03, 2019 to January 09, 2019 only.
Photography Competition Mechanics, Terms and Conditions, Guidelines are as follows:
1. THEME: “Explore
and Experience Kuyamis Festival 2019”.
2. The contest is
open to the 2nd MISOR FOTOFEST KUYAMIS FESTIVAL official
participants, except for the employees of the Misamis Oriental Provincial Capitol.
3. The 2nd
MISOR FOTOFEST KUYAMIS FESTIVAL Photography Competition has two categories:
Conventional, and Mobile.
4. Registration fee
is at P200.00 per category which includes photographer’s ID (event pass), and 2
(two) entries per category.
5. Registered participants
can submit up to 2 (two) entries for and/or either of the two categories.
Meanwhile, an additional entry to be submitted is at P100.00 per photo per
category.
6. Photo entries must
be in a digital file full color or black and white in .jpeg, .jpg format and
may be on portrait or landscape orientation.
7. Entries to be submitted
in printed form with the size 12”x8” and/or 8”x12” (matte or glossy paper), no
border, and photo entry must not carry any identifying mark of the participant
(e.g. signature, initials, watermark). Printed entries should be accompanied by
the original and edited soft copy of the image, make folders (1 original, and 1
edited) in CD/DVD together with the registration form with affixed signature of
the participant, and should be put in a brown envelope with the complete name
of the participant, must be sealed, and to be submitted at the Event Center,
Centrio Mall-Ayala, Cagayan de Oro City.
8. All entries must
be submitted in its highest resolution available using DSLR, Mirrorless, P
& Shoot, Drone, &/or Smart phones.
9. All entries should
be taken during the 6th Kuyamis Festival 2019 celebration from
January 07-11, 2019.
10. All entries
should be limited to minimal editing e.g. cropping, brightness, sharpening, and
contrast adjustments. On the other hand, HDR, infrared, stitches, and layering
are highly discouraged and will automatically disqualify.
11. Deadline of
submission will be on January 11, 2019, 01:00pm at the Activity Center, Centrio
Mall-Ayala.
12. The selection of
the winners will be at the sole discretion of the contest organizer, and panel
of judges. No correspondence or any other form of communication regarding the
decision will be entered into. Hence, the decision is final and irrevocable.
13. The contest organizer
reserves the right and discretion to disqualify any participants if a violation
is committed or unnecessary action/s which directly affects the contest
procedure is done.
14. The photographer
must be the sole author of the copyright of images entered into MISOR FOTOFEST
Photography Competition and should attest that he/she is the rightful owner of
the image.
15. All “printed
photos” submitted as “official entries” will be considered property of the
Organizers and as such, the Organizers further reserves the right whether or
not to use the winning or non-winning photos. However, Organizer respects the
Photographers rights and does not claim copyright for any images submitted.
Hence, participant retains the full copyright of the image. Additionally, participants
grant the Organizers, “Camera Club of Cagayan de Oro”, the “Misamis Oriental
Provincial Tourism Office”, and “Misamis Oriental Culture, Arts, and Tourism
Council” with or without the need for attribution, prior permission or
additional pay or consideration: The right to use the submitted images royalty-free,
worldwide in perpetuity; the non-exclusive license to copy, display,
distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the submitted images, in
whole, or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for all
non-profit public information purposes.
16. The Organizers
reserve the right to contact photographers to confirm information in the
submission form or for any other purpose considered necessary.
17. The Organizers reserve
the right to disqualify photographers who: tamper with the process, are unable
to validate the information submitted, or breach the Competition’s Rules.
18. Failure to
accept, and/or get the prizes although a series of communication has been made
from the Organizers, will be forfeited within the period of 12 months starting
from the announcement of winners.
19. If any party
manifests in writing that his/her intellectual property rights have been
violated by a participant/entry, the Organizers reserve the right to withhold
the prizes and/or use of the winning photo until such issue has been resolved.
20. The criteria for
judging are as follows:
- Adherence to the Theme (Relevance): 25% -
Composition (Photography Elements): 25%
- Photographic Quality (Creativity): 25% - Visual Impact (Wow Impact): 25%
21. TOP 10 winners
will be notified through SMS and/or email from the official Organizer. Winning
photos will be posted on the official facebook of the Camera Club of Cagayan de
Oro at www.facebook.com/CameraClubOfCDO,
and other media platforms.
22. Most importantly,

- Grand Prize Winner: P15,000.00 cash
- Top 2 Winner: P10,000.00 cash
- Top 3 Winner: P5,000.00 cash
* Mobile Category
- Grand Prize Winner: P3,000.00 cash
- Top 2 Winner: P2,000.00 cash
* Top 1 to 10 winners of the Conventional category will receive plaque of awards and exciting prizes.
Photographers joining the photowalk are requested to bring the following:
-Digital Single Lens Reflex/Translucent cameras, and/or Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens cameras
-Point-and-Shoot camera, Smartphone, Drone owners are also welcome to join
-A good tripod
-Extra shirt
-Bottled water
-Pocket money
